“Make Us One”

FOCUS

One of the best expressions of “if you can laugh at it you can live with it” is “our family puts the fun in dysfunctional.” It’s a humorous albeit it painfully honest attempt to acknowledge that people being in physical proximity to one another is often completely unrelated to them being together as one with one another. Oneness is an attitude & an action / a belief & a behavior.

One of the biggest tragedies of authentic unity not being on display is when it comes to the body of believers which is also called the body of Christ which is also called the one true church of the one true & living God. If we live divided as believers, it’s the enemy, not God who scores the most points.

Our Oneness in Christ …

1. was established the moment He brought us into His family.

It is God’s heart’s desire. It should be ours too.

Ephesians 2:11-14 & 4:1-6ff

2. becomes evidence of His existence to those who aren’t His yet.

Our oneness in Christ helps the world believe that God the Father sent His Son.

John 17:20-23 / Romans 15:5-6

Making It Real

1] Are you convinced this is true? If so, is there evidence of it in your life?

2] How will you make this more visible to those around you in the days ahead?

Action Step

Memorize John 17:20-21. Ask God to make it true to & through you.
